Assoc. Prof. Dr. Borislav Dabov, Ph.D. graduated with honors in medicine at the Medical University - Sofia in 1981. Two years later he was an assistant at the Scientific Institute of Ophthalmology. He specializes in vitreoretinal surgery in Germany and Belgium. In 2003 he became an associate professor of ophthalmology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Borislav Dabov, Ph.D. is a member of the Bulgarian Society of Ophthalmology, as well as of the German Ophthalmological Society and the New York Academy of Sciences. He is the author of the only monograph of its kind in our country "Vitreoretinal Surgery". Under his leadership in the Eye Clinic at the University Hospital "St. Anna Sofia JSC, expands its scope and today there are performed annually over 2000 eye surgeries - not only routine (for cataracts and glaucoma), but also the most severe and complex - of ablation (detachment) of the retina, diabetic retinopathy and more. , which are within the capabilities of no more than 10 Bulgarian specialists.
